The ignored art...
I love movies.Mostly considered a source of entertainment alone, they have the ability to alter perspectives, take you on a dreamy ride.Movies are probably the best method of free expression in today’s world. So,if we consider movies from a more serious perspective,it is not that difficult to see that they are a treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge, well some of them.We must realise that movie makers – directors, actors and script writers are artists in their own right.Their art is more identifiable in the world today. You can live a lifetime in a movie. It takes great inspiration, skill and imagination to come up with those one-liners,it takes amazing clarity of mind and passion to put your thoughts into visual. While the numerous shoddy novels don’t make writing a shoddy activity, movies aren’t considered worthy enough. While writing, painting and even music is mostly a monotonous affair, movies comparatively are a combination of many artforms. So,how about a Nobel for movies ? We,Indians have a better chance of winning a Nobel than an Oscar……
