The power behind the throne.

Manmohan Singh is the new PM of India.Throughout,the election campaign he was targetted as the weakest PM.It's true that he derived his power not from the people but from the patronage of the Gandhis.But,is it such a bad idea that the Gandhi household is once more a centre of power ? I think it's been a blessing in disguise.Sonia Gandhi,born in Italy might be more immune to the vices of Indian polity.She might just be more upright than our average 'white-cap'.Her evolution into this astute political force is phenomenal.I don't recall any politician who has worked as hard as her - learning the language,the culture and the ins and outs of Indian polity.Rahul and Priyanka too were born to parents who were less political, Sonia and Rajiv were extremely reluctant to enter politics.May be they're just sincere and honest people in this muck of politics.May be it's a good thing that this family controls the power....
